Record Profits for Banks and Corporations, Austerity For Us.

Prime Minister Mark Carney’s federal budget targets a reduction of about 40,000 positions (roughly 10% to 15% of the total public workforce.) Over 23,000 jobs have already been cut or lost through attrition. The most impacted departments are, ironically, Employment and Social Development Canada, Public Services Canada, Canada Pension Plan, Health Canada, Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Environment and Climate Change Canada.
Canada Strong? Nation building? These cuts, while massively scaling up billions in military spending and subsidies to fossil fuel projects, cutting corporate taxes and the regulatory mitigations for the environment and indigenous consent, represent the pernicious and misanthropic agenda of Mark Carney. He’s Prime Minister of neoliberalism, globalist sell-offs and the privatization of public assets, all in the name of sovereignty and economic independence. And worse, these policies align with Trump’s, while feigning Canada’s defiance. You’ve been duped.
“Trickle-down” economics is the fantasy that if you shovel enough wealth to the top, everyone else will somehow get wet. It asks the many to subsidize the few, then calls the crumbs “prosperity.” A healthy economy can’t be built on waiting for wealth to leak downward. It must put purchasing power, opportunity, and dignity in the hands of the people who actually keep it running. Trickle-down isn’t economics, it’s a wealth funnel pointing upwards, feeding record profits to the wealthiest, while the cost of living crisis deepens for the rest of us.
