The museum and Archives Society is planning to show “ Looking Back”. Videos 1 and 2 at the Seniors’ Lounge on Sunday, November 22nd at 2pm.
Looking Back 1 shows the early days on Denman island and some of the first Non-Indigenous people speaking about their days on our special island This video is about 45 minutes long. “Looking Back 2 -Back to the Landers” describes the lives of young people coming to Denman to start a new life away from the stresses of modern turmoil! It is quite short and shows the trials and tribulations of young people beginning a new way of life.It also shows the development of Denman Island as a haven for artists as these people became some of the first Potters on the Island.
Please join us to celebrate, and maybe reminisce about, our early days.
There will be a short break between the videos to enjoy a cup of tea and a cookie.
Entrance will be by donation towards improving the entrance of the Museum. We recommend you come early as the Lounge has limited space!
