Dear Grapevine, I am writing in appreciation of Page 5 of the 17th September 2026 issue.
Thank you, Leif Lebaron, for an elegant and informative article with an eye-catching and magical visual that segues smoothly into “The Imaginary World of the CBC.”
The piece begins with appreciation of our longstanding public broadcasting station, before moving swiftly into regret over the demise of said voice into one of propaganda which has, for the past 6 years, as Lebaron states, “clearly engaged in gross censorship and disinformation” – strong words for the conclusion as he zooms out with a 1928 quote by Edward Bernays re Propaganda, repeated here.
“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized.”
This quote echoes testimony by Rodney Palmer (former CBC investigative journalist), during the live-streamed Allison Inquiry into a small sample of Covid vaccine injured Canadians who were duped, manipulated, and eventually mandated into an untested medical procedure, suffering the dire consequences of “safe and effective” propaganda.
For the record, Rodney Palmer has worked in China, Afghanistan, and Syria, and has first-hand experience of the manipulative propaganda issued by state-controlled media, as opposed to news reported on public radio. Palmer has witnessed our CBC becoming a state-controlled broadcaster.
During September 8-11, 2026, on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Conservative MP Dean Allison held independent hearings into COVID-19 vaccine injuries. The Allison Inquiry heard 53 testimonies from more than 1,400 applicants gathered to share personal stories of injury or death. The goal of such inquiry was to listen to Canadians who have been dismissed with accusations of mental illness, menopausal thinking, and stress-induced hypochondria.
Lebaron cites the Allison Inquiry as an example of the CBC’s journalistic truancy as the corporation neglects to report on what should have been a watershed event for Canada. He points to the Trucker Protest reportage as outright “false narrative and staged photographs.”
We are all subject to the media voice, now increasingly crazed with the advent of AI.
