Tai Chi with Brian Miles
January 7 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Tai chi classes are moving to Tuesday nights, starting January 7, at the Activity Centre
I am fortunate and grateful that my teacher, Henry Wang, chose to live in the Comox Valley for the healthy environment rather than Vancouver for the many more students. Henry is an international push hands champion from Taiwan who studied with Grandmaster Huang Sheng Shyan. Please check out Henry’s website searchcentertaichi.com. I have studied with Henry for 25 years. Tai chi is Taoist in nature, it doesn’t clash, it yields. Tai chi is process, the point of it, is the evolution of the practitioner, not the acquisition of the art. Tai chi is an internal martial art, and we do it for health. Just as Henry chose Comox, we check our ego at the door and choose health, physical, mental, & emotional health.
Tai chi is energy management and understanding yin and yang. Relaxation, Concentration, Balance, Centre, Circle, Proportion, and Coordination are the seven principles of movement in Henry’s yang style form. At first one copies the movements while one learns to sink the chi, move the chi and develop their own form as they transform themselves. Please come check out one class for $15 or 12 classes for $150. Continuing class starts at 7 pm. Beginners class at 8 pm. Thank you, Brian Miles 335-0768 or firstname.lastname@example.org
